Tyler Pyke, a company vehicle for Appleton, Wisconsin-based JMW Transfer, is a third-generation truck drivers, following in the footsteps of his uncle, father and uncle, who owned and operated a home organization up until the Great Crisis.

We sort of lost our very first small concert in 2009, and I’ve been attempting to revive it ever since, according to Pyke. But that’s proven “kind of hard to do”, with the latest market and shipping industry.

” Can’t find the right rates and find a bargain on a truck now”, he added.

Although Pyke has actually been behind the wheel for the past seven years, he spent the majority of his life in and around vehicles growing up. ” It’s in my heart, you know, third-generation vehicle doing it”, he said.

Tyler PykeWith a young family at home, Pyke is fully content pulling JMW’s equipment and running locally. Ultimately, though, he hopes to get the family business up and running again down the road.

Making the leap from business drivers to owner-operator is possible then,” but it’s gonna be a headache”, he said. ” It wo n’t be like how it was in the past,” he said. But I kind of was anticipating what would happen in the upcoming some months here,” following the election, and how the market would fare. If I only stick with these guys or if I do things on my own in the future, that will be my great decision.

Pyke was on-hand at the 2024 Waupun Truck-N-Show– the 35th and last version of the demonstrate– earlier this summer showing the 2016 Kenworth T880 he hauls in for JMW. He’s part of the ship’s flat section and pulls a stage deck hauling a variety of freight, including “fire truck cabs, steel, lumber, anything that involves a flat, very much”, he said.

Starting with JMW back in March, Pyke said he’s the next drivers behind the wheel of this vehicle, which at the time of the present had only shy of 450, 000 miles on the odometer.

He claimed that when I got her, it was “kind of a pig” but he’s worked to the fullest to improve it by “making her a little better and giving her the facelift and stuff that she deserves” ( p. 21 ).

Pyke has watched the Waupun show for years, but he has n’t had the chance to show a truck himself until this year. He asked his boss for permission before the show and inquired if he could take his vehicle that, especially since this would be the “last trip” of the long-running event.

” This is my first day always” showing a vehicle at Waupun,” but I’ve been coming to the show since I was 12 times aged”, Pyke said. ” I always dreamed about putting a truck in the show and did n’t have the opportunity” until this year.

He received the approval, and the week of the present, he had a drag to create quick in the week. He did that work in another of the ship’s cars, as factory workers went to work on the T880.

After his work, the JMW staff worked on polishing, touching up the rig’s paint, and much more. The headaches rack and deck plate were removed from the truck when he returned to the shop.

” We pretty little had 80 hours of work that we did in 42 days to get it here”, he said. We made an appointment an hour before membership was closed.

Pyke described the truck as one of three in the ship with a distinctive barbed-wire stripe down the hood, which is mostly a 35-truck JMW Transfer regular fleet truck.

It’s powered by an X15 Cummins with a 10-speed.

Inside the equipment, the vehicle and shifter are color-matched with the outside.

Tyler Pyke: My name’s Tyler. I work for JMW Transfer out of Mackville. We generally have three groups. We got pull vehicle, wheeled and Lowboy, and I’m more on the flat part of it. But I haul something from fire vehicle cabs, steel, lumber, anything that involves a flat, very little. Grandpa had a vehicle, father had a vehicle. Uncle had a vehicle. We almost lost our very own small job again in 2009, and I’ve been attempting to revive it ever since. But a little challenging to perform. Now, it’s difficult to find the right prices and a good deal on a trailer.

But, great. These I got a 2016 Kenworth T880. She’s got 446, 000 km on her. The X 15 Cummins in her, which she has in the second man, is running a 10-speed.

The blue and gray are present in essentially all of our vehicles. I do think that our vehicle has this great barbed line that runs along the helmet. However, other than that, it’s essentially basic Jane blue with white and is uniform across the board for all the units we have.

I’ve been in this tractor since March. I have no trouble. She’s got exceptional power. Nothing too much that she ca n’t haul. Always have a problem with rocks or anything like that. This is undoubtedly one of the better cars I’ve driven in the last few times at companies I’ve worked for, making certain I can get her off to being attractive, give her some TLC, and kind of plan on making her a little bit better and give her the makeover and other things she deserves.
