More than 33,600 hectares of digital data are being produced by xFarm Technologies and Dyson Farming.
xFarm Technologies, the leading pan-European software business for the automation of the agri-food field, and Dyson Farming, one of UK’s largest farming businesses, have announced a three-year modern agriculture project focused on data-driven efficiency to help the future of responsible food production.
One of the largest gardening businesses in the UK, Dyson Farming, a leading pan-European tech company dedicated to the digitalization of the agri-food economy, is implementing a very personalized project to further improve the efficiency of farm operations management.
The three-year job consists of the automation of over 33, 600 acre through the design and implementation of a tailor-made system. For managing and record keeping purposes, the system will gather and process information. Additionally, the project will include the link of farm machinery and equipment that will help users better manage their usage and improve effectiveness.
With 36, 000 acres of farmland in Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, West Berkshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire, Dyson Farming is a large-scale gardening company focused on conservation and technology-led technology. On the software developed by xFarm Technologies, they have already registered almost 1, 000 areas, 3700 acres of economic features, more than 100 warehouses, and a ship of over 250 machines, including tractors and products.
” Dyson Farming is incredibly advanced in the use of cutting-edge technology and focused on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability,” says Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm Technologies.” We are extremely proud to be their partner in this tailor-made project to make their operations management even more efficient,” says Vanotti. We at xFarm Technologies, a business created by farmers for farmers, are aware that the work of a farm is much more complicated than one might think. Thankfully, cutting-edge technologies that allow data collection can be very helpful in making farm management easier and more efficient. Our R&, D team, our AI engineers, and data scientists work every day to create hardware and software solutions that enable us to support businesses in the agri-food sector in every way possible.
The digital transformation of our farm management system is necessary to support our ongoing efforts to produce more wholesome and sustainable British food that is grown in harmony with the environment. commented Daniel Cross, MD of Dyson Farming.
By implementing xFarm, we will be able to make more informed decisions and provide complete traceability for our consumers, said Ben Abell, Head of Agronomy at Dyson Farming. This will allow for the sharing of the data and evidence of the nature and environmental improvements incorporated into our production, allowing for the traceability of every grain, root, or berry of the 100, 000 tonnes of food we produce each year.
The project started in August, with official go-live in mid-September, and will involve in total 70 Dyson Farming operators and 3 teams from xFarm Technologies. The two businesses officially presented it at the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit, which took place in London on September 30 ( see image above ).
